Terms of service
Last updated 24 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Halfborg Software, a business registered in Singapore (UEN 53254612A) (“Pupop”, “we”, “us”). They cover your use of Pupop: the website at pupop.io, the dashboard at app.pupop.io, and the script and services at cdn.pupop.io (together, “the service”).
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms, our Privacy policy and, where it applies, our Data processing agreement. If you use Pupop for a company or other organisation, you confirm you can bind it to these terms, and “you” means that organisation.
Pupop is a tool for businesses. You must be at least 18 to use it.
2. The service
Pupop lets you build popups, publish them to your websites with a script tag, see how they perform, and collect the details visitors choose to submit (“leads”). We may improve, change or remove features over time. If we remove a feature that is central to a paid plan, we'll tell you at least 30 days in advance.
3. Your account
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us at support@pupop.io straight away if you think someone else has access to it.
- You must verify your email address before you can publish a popup.
4. Plans, quotas and limits
- Plans. Pupop has a Free plan and paid plans. Each plan has a monthly quota of popup impressions and a limit on the number of sites, as shown in our pricing and on your Billing page.
- Impressions. An impression is a popup shown to a visitor. We count at most one impression per popup, per visitor session, per day. Pageloads that show no popup don't count.
- Quota. We email you when your workspace reaches 80% of its quota. At 100%, every popup in your workspace stops showing until your next usage period starts or you upgrade. Impressions recorded after that point are still counted. Deleting popups or sites doesn't reduce your usage.
- Sites. If you move to a plan with fewer sites than you have, your newest sites beyond the limit are paused. You can choose which sites stay live.
- Branding. Popups on the Free plan show a small “Powered by Pupop” link. Paid plans don't.
- Changes. We may change the quota, site limit or features of a plan. For paid plans, a change that reduces what you get takes effect from your next renewal after at least 30 days' notice.
5. Payment and billing
- Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Currency and intervals. Prices are in US dollars. You can pay monthly or annually, in advance.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- Upgrades take effect immediately. You're charged the difference for the rest of the current period.
- Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current period. You keep your plan until then.
- Refunds. Fees are not refundable, including for partly used periods or unused impressions, except where the law requires otherwise or where these terms say so.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe will retry your card. If it still can't be collected, your subscription ends and your workspace moves to the Free plan.
- Taxes. Prices exclude taxes. You're responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase. You can add your business tax ID at checkout so it appears on your invoices.
- Price changes. We may change our prices. A new price applies from your next renewal, and we'll tell you at least 30 days before.
- Managing billing. You can change plan, update your card, see invoices and cancel from Billing → Manage billing.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use Pupop to:
- break any law, including privacy, consumer protection, anti-spam and marketing laws;
- show deceptive popups, such as fake system warnings, fake countdowns presented as real, or close buttons that do something else;
- run phishing, or collect passwords, card numbers, government ID numbers or similar sensitive details;
- collect health data or other special categories of personal data, or target children;
- distribute malware, or content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, or infringes someone else's rights;
- send spam or messages people haven't agreed to receive;
- put Pupop on a website you don't own or aren't authorised to manage;
- probe, overload or disrupt the service, get around quotas or limits, or access it other than through the interfaces we provide;
- resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.
We may remove content or pause popups that break this section. In serious cases, we may suspend your account (see section 11).
7. Your content and your visitors' data
- Your content. You own your content: the popups, text, images and settings you create, and the leads your popups collect. You give us permission to host, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run the service for you.
- Your responsibilities. You're responsible for your content and for how you use the data your popups collect. In particular, you must:
- have a lawful basis, including consent where the law requires it, for collecting visitors' details;
- tell visitors, in your own privacy notice, that you use Pupop and what happens to their data (our Cookies and visitor storage page describes what the script stores);
- deal with visitors' requests about their data. You can view, export and delete leads in the dashboard.
- Our role. For personal data about your visitors, we act on your behalf as a processor (a “data intermediary” under Singapore's PDPA). Our Data processing agreement forms part of these terms and governs that processing.
- Webhooks and alerts. If you set up webhooks or email alerts, we send lead data to the addresses you choose. You're responsible for those destinations.
8. Our service and feedback
We own Pupop, including its software, design and brand. These terms don't give you any rights in it beyond using the service. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
9. Third-party services
Pupop relies on other providers, listed on our Subprocessors page. Payments are subject to Stripe's terms, and Google sign-in to Google's. If your popups load images from other websites, those websites receive visitors' requests. We're not responsible for third-party services we don't control.
10. Availability
We work to keep Pupop fast and available, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we offer no service level agreement. We may need to pause the service for maintenance or security.
11. Suspension and closing your account
- Closing your account. You can stop using Pupop at any time. Cancel any paid plan in Billing → Manage billing. To close your account and delete its data, email support@pupop.io from your account's email address.
- Our right to suspend or close. We may suspend or close your account straight away if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, don't pay, or put the service or others at risk. We may also close the service or your account for any other reason with 30 days' notice. In that case we'll refund any prepaid fees for the unused part of your period.
- After closing. Your popups stop showing. We delete your account data within 30 days, as described in our Privacy policy, except what we must keep by law, such as billing records. Export any leads you want to keep first.
12. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise any particular conversion rate or business result.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill;
- our total liability arising from these terms or the service, in any 12-month period, is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in that period and US$100.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
14. Indemnity
You'll compensate us for claims, losses and reasonable costs brought by third parties that arise from your content, your popups, your use of visitors' data, or your breach of section 6 or of the law.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Pupop after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, close your account before then. Where you've prepaid for a period, we'll refund the unused part.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. The courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. We'd rather solve problems directly, so please contact us first.
17. General
- These terms, the Privacy policy and the DPA are the whole agreement between us about the service.
- If a part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a right straight away, we haven't waived it.
- Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
- You may not transfer these terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business.
- We send notices to your account's email address. Send yours to support@pupop.io.
